Regarding sharing set lists: Thanks for this new feature.

In many situations, it’s not practical to use the file sharing mechanism. Sometimes, only email is available to exchange files. Sometimes, I don’t trust the sender enough to allow them direct access as source or via AirDrop etc. For a dumbed-down approach to using this new feature, I found that the following process works.

1. Export the PDF and set list normally, via email.
2. On the receiving iPad, import the PDF from the email attachment via “Open in iGigBook”.
3. On the receiving iPad, import the set list the same way.
4. On the receiving iPad, locate the PDF in My Scores. It will start with ‘set_”; it may be necessary to use “Refresh”.
5. Rename the PDF so that it has no upper case letters.
6. Find the imported set list in Set View or Set Manager. All the entries should be visible.
7. The new set list can now be reordered, annotated, broken into sections etc. as needed.

I hope this process sounds appropriate to you in cases where the source/destination sharing is not practical.

Since the naming relies on lower case, I will make a point of only using lower case set names in future.

Step 5. - You will have problems if you do this.

File names are case sensitive in iOS and the file name is referenced in the set list file. If you change the name of the file, even the case of the letters the set list will no longer reference the original file.

I had to change the name because the PDF imported from the email did not match the name in the plist. By changing the case I was able to make the orphaned entries match the file.

The case sensitivity of iPadOS is an endless headache. If I wind up with two iGigBook files that differ only in case, e.g. “Good Bait.pdf” and “good bait.pdf”, an attempt to copy files from the iPad to a Mac will freeze. I need to reboot, track down the duplicate, delete it, and try again. Some methods of importing files to igigbook convert to lower case, which is one way this happens.

Anyway the new PDF/set list export is great and much appreciated.

You're right, just checked it out. In the future the PDF will be all lower case to match what's in the set file.
