external monitor issue

Hi all,

Brand new iGigbook user here....So far so good with the app, BUT I cannot seem to get it to display on an external monitor. I am using the Apple AV Digital adaptor (HDMI) and I have confirmed my iPod touch 4g (iOS5.1) DOES send to the monitor. I ran Youtube, and another app called OnSong (which by the way DOES have switch/setting fro controlling external display).

in iGigbook, I cannot find any way to set up external out....and it does not seem to transmit automatically????

Can anyone help with this?

We have tested it using the VGA connector and it works without a problem. We have not done any testing with the Apple AV Digital adaptor(HDMI).

ahh okay,thanks Phil....I had a suspicion that might be the case so I ordered the VGA adaptor from Apple just in case....good to know now that it DOES work with that one.

I assume iGig will send out in portrait mode as the default? (I hope so as that's the format I use). And I see you have Airturn pedal support for forward turns, will you be adding backward turning as well in the future?

When output is pushed to an external monitor you get two pages up in portrait mode i.e. the current page on the device plus the next page side by side.

Phil, what if the PDF chart is a single page, does it still display two pages, or will it "see" it's a single and only show one?

And sorry, a secondary question I forgot..

How is the iGig using Apple TV? As it does not use HDMI, and only VGA. I believe the Apple TV is exclusively HDMI.......I am thinking of sending wirelessly to my monitor on-stage from the iPod...I will more than likely just use the VGA, but it cannot hurt to know about other options if available.

If there are two pages to display, two display, if only one, only one displays.

We aren't doing anything with apple TV at the moment.

Sorry to say, I have just received the Apple VGA adaptor, and I still get nothing on the external display..just a black screen...Should the menus display as well as charts?

And is there a particular way or a setting on the iPod I need to look at? I really want to get this to work as I am considering getting rid of my iPad and iPod and just getting an iPhone 4s to replace both. BUT I really need charts bigger than the iPhone screen (or iPod for that matter)

PS: and again I also tested it with Youtube and it transmits the picture fine...and just an update....I also just copied across a video (of a TV show actually) and the picture transmits fine..no sound obviously but picture quality is good.

Update. Okay I figured out it only mirrors the actual charts. righto onto the next problem, trying to find my personal scanned PDF sheets...they are not in books rather just individual PDF's..alread dragged and dropped them via iTunes, but I cannot find them..

I guess the answer will be in the guides on the forum somewhere...I prefer to not use books, just individual files...
