Hi, I just purchased iGig and can see the times saver it can be. These apps all do different things well. Unrealbook can take a pic of a chart and convert it to a PDF but it can't index (no app can index) like iGig. To make this the dream app of the century (unless it's there and I can't find it) a split pane feature would be spectacular like awereader which lets you select the current page to double pane or the page before it. With that the search for the perfect chart app would be over. For me it's okay, I'd have to go to iGig first and in those rare instances the song is a 2 pager I'd have to go to awereader and look it up..... so if a dual pane is there please tell me, if it isn't make it so and I will be very happy.
Thanks.

Re: split pane
If you connect your device up to an external monitor, iGigBook will show two pages side by side, the current page plus the next page.
Many people are looking for the charts to be larger and want landscape mode, not to show two charts side by side but to show one chart bigger.

Hi, well, I'm a piano player and at jazz gig prices I don't see a second device happening, but I do see your point. If youdon't think a dual pane feature is a good idea for your app can we at least have an " open with " setting to get the pages to a PDF reader that will split the pane and all will be well.

Re: split pane
if the iPad was bigger I would agree with you jimmy. but I'm only 26 and I couldn't imagine trying to stare down a 2 page chart landscape mode on an iPad!

Re: split pane
We do think the idea is a good one but it just doesn't work for practical reasons on the iPad screen dimensions. These days a 23 inch wide screen monitor is a little more than $100 and we have number if users that actually use iGigBook Mobile the iPhone/iPod version with an external monitor.Jimmyblues wrote:Hi, well, I'm a piano player and at jazz gig prices I don't see a second device happening, but I do see your point. What app do you know that does two pages up in landscape mode on the iPad screen?

Re: split pane
I just wanted to make it clear that the suggestion is not to buy another iPad but to alert you that we display split screen or two pages side by side when you connect your device to an external monitor. We also have a free app called iGigBook Pager that you can use with an iPhone or an iPod to turn pages hands free to help with navigation of songs with multiple pages.

Re: split pane
Hi, I didn't see the question about which app splits the screen. It's Awe Reader. So I have to find the tune in Igig then go to Awe to split the page. Not only does it split the page but offers two ways either by splitting the page you're on and the next or the page you're on and the one before.
I put my ipad on my piano stand and can see both pages no prob, most of the time

You can view two pages side by side with both the iPad and Android version of iGigBook in landscape mode.
